In Room 15 we have all chosen an animal to research. We are going to be writing an information report on this chosen animal. We will be practising and using the skills of researching, skimming and scanning, sorting and grouping information and presenting.
We have found a really good search engine to help us. Its called Kiddle, google for kids. Some children have also issued a book from the school library to help them.
Here is the website:

Sharing our Information Report posters
In Leopards reading we are practising the skill 'skimming and scanning'. This is when you read a text quickly to find interesting facts and information. In pairs we chose an animal and used a book to research some facts. We had to display it on a poster and share our information with the rest of the class. Here are some photos of us sharing our learning.....
Moss and Johnny sharing their learning about Endangered species |
Luke and Flynn speaking to the class |
Luke and Flynn showing us their poster on Giraffes |
Evan and Ben.A telling us all about Monkey's |
Campbell sharing his learning on insects and beetles |

Ipads in Room 15
Ipads in Room 15
In Room 15 we have been focussing on learning about our Clevedon School PRIDE value Respect. We created a Y chart as a class to record what we thought respect looked like, sounded like and felt like in the classroom. On Tuesday we got into groups of 3 or 4 and created a poster about Respect using the app pic collage on our ipads. Here are some photos of us working in our groups. We also had to be 'Reciprocal' when working a group, sharing, taking turns and listening to each others ideas.

Welcome back to Term 2!
Welcome back to Term 2!
I hope you have all had a wonderful, well-rested holiday.... This term we have lots of exciting activities planned. Our inquiry unit this term is called 'Sharing the Planet'.
These will be our focus questions:
- Why do living things live in particular habitats? (function)
- How do living things impact each other? (causation)
- What are our responsibilities to other living things? (responsibility)
We will be reading non-fiction texts in the classroom and focussing on writing information reports about animals and their habitats and how they impact on each other.
